Medea

We are a young winery located in the town of Vodnjan near Pula. We are a young team bound by the love for two things, wine and Istria. Therefore we stand behind fresh and pleasurable wines, a reflection of the best we have here – a rich soil and grapes that grow out of it. Medea is what evolves, inspired by our people, by the climate, by the bond between the continent and the Adriatic, by a rich gastronomic and cultural tradition. Medea wines include varieties that reflect the local terroir, but also international ones that thrive here: Istrian Malvazija, Merlot, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Teran. The grapevines are planted on red soil (terra rossa) which is very suitable for vineyards, primarily because of its ability to easily absorb and retain water. These soil qualities allow the vines to survive during dry summer periods. All of the grapes in our wines come from our own vineyards, ensuring maximum quality control and management. Over the years, our brand has become a synonym for fresh and light Istrian wines produced from both local and international grape varieties. Medea simply offers so much.
